Cold Water Rinse
Vintage Life Amalfi Basil Lemon Shave Soap
Jayaruh #454 Badger
Dad's Schick E3
Personna Injector Blade
Mennen Skin Bracer After Shave
The Vintage Life Amalfi Basil Lemon Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #454 Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Dad's Schick E3 Razor and a Personna Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Mennen Skin Bracer After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
This week I am using a couple of special items. The razor was my Dad's. It is a Schick E3. I remember him shaving with it. He passed away in 1997. It has a wooden handle that he made for it. The old handle must have failed. This inspired me such that I have since made several handles for Schicks. I was in a beard stage then and did not think to save his shave gear. He also shaved with a Gillette New Standard with a short handle. It had lost all plating, but that is the one I wished I had in my collection. This Schick delivers close shaves, but it will bite if you are not careful. I am careful.
Secondly, I am using a home made soap by Dan from Vintage Life. I can't remember his last name, and he has taken down his YouTube account. I have this Amalfi Basal Lemon Shave Soap and two others that he gave me: Licorice and Morning TOST. He made a bunch of Morning TOST for a group of us over at TOST3 back in May of 2019. I am sorry to have lost touch with Dan. He made some good soaps. He made them from a recipe he discovered from the late 1800s I think. He had a video documenting the steps.
